When you’re responsible for a construction project, you quickly learn that ensuring you have top quality air tools is vital to the functioning of your site. Here at Rhino Plant Hire, we’re proud to have been helping clients in Grays for fifteen years, and as a result we know exactly what’s what when it comes to keeping trade customers like you happy with air tools. Whether you need pneumatic drills and grinders or you’re searching for picks and breakers, there’s plenty on offer here. And with our range of hammers, you’ll be able to carry out jobs on site like scarifying and chipping with ease. Don’t forget to also pick up some electrical equipment like transformers and splitter boxes to make sure the plants and tools you hire function effectively.
Whether you’re managing a construction site, working on roofing projects or simply managing a large outdoor space, one thing’s for sure: having access to a range of pieces of heavy plant kit is essential to keep your project running smoothly. For example, when you need to move items from the ground to a great height often it’s just not practical for your team members to be tasked with the role. That’s where a telehandler comes in: whether you need to raise a few bricks from the ground to a first story window or you need to transport slates or tiles for a roof to the top of an 18 meter high building, we’ve got a telehandler for you. What’s more, our range of telehandlers come with intuitive and user friendly steering modes and skid steers, meaning that turning around is simple.

Plant hire isn’t just about the smaller or compact items, either. Most construction sites will need some heavy duty breakers or rotary drills at one point or another, and that’s where Rhino Plant Hire can help. Demolition tasks can be made easier by powerful, high-performance items such as a tunnel pick, for example, while impact wrenches are necessary for those stubborn bolts. And from our extensive experience in catering to the needs of the people of Grays, we know that it’s not just construction sites which require tools like this too. If you’re involved in projects such as roadworks or the construction of footpaths or patios, for example, a heavy duty breaker is just the ticket.
An ambitious plan to regenerate the town centre means there’s going to be plenty of plant hire needed in Grays in the coming months and years.
According to plans published by Thurrock Council, a whole host of exciting new features could be added to the town centre. There may, for example, be river boat services installed serving Town Wharf, while contractors are in place in the area around Orsett Road to take out the one-way system currently – and replace it with a more useful town centre access route.
Other infrastructure projects under consideration include the “Grays Gateway”, which will see the area near the bus and train hubs transformed into a more appealing area to welcome those coming to Grays for work or pleasure. It will, for example, involve an underpass which will link the area by the river with the area in the town centre. It’s also likely to open up new public spaces to both the north and the south of the railway, creating a community feel.
And one part of the town in particular which will see the benefits of this regeneration plan is the area around the Old Courthouse at the top end of Grays High Street. The Old Courthouse at the top of Grays High Street has long been a hub for the town. But as the recently released regeneration plan for the town shows, it’s soon going to get a whole new lease of life. Working in partnership with firms including Nwes, Beardwell Construction and The Regeneration Practice, Thurrock Council has led on the development of the building for business space.
The newly redeveloped area will include 12,000 square feet for many different types of business, including newly launched start ups which need a place to base themselves and develop headquarters as well as firms with a little more experience in business. It’s believed, too, that there will be over 200 new jobs for the area as a result of the development. The project cost almost £4 million, and over £1 million of this cash came from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership – which gave the funding through its Growing Places Fund.
What’s more, the changes to the Old Courthouse are just som in a long line of redevelopments in the Grays area. At the launch of the building’s regeneration, the leader of Thurrock Council – John Kent – said he thought that the centre of the town was now becoming increasingly appealing.
“The town is already becoming more vibrant and more popular with the South Essex College campus to the south and now this building and its businesses at the northern end of the High Street,” he said.
