Rhinos Plant Hire, offer a wide range of mini excavators and mini diggers to help ensure your building project in Central London runs smoothly. We have been providing mini excavators and mini diggers to clients across the borough for over 15 years. This is why we are confident that whatever you need, we can help. Whether it’s heavy plant machinery, small plant, equipment or tools you will find it for hire at Rhinos.
We have compact excavators with the smoothest operation thanks to expertly designed hydraulic systems. These machines will get the digging done for your project in no time, simply choose the best option for you. Our mini diggers and mini excavators go up in gradual intervals with the amount of weight they can handle. They start under one tonne, and go all the way up to eight tonnes, each providing a different digging depth up to 4,590 millimetres.
Mini diggers from Rhinos can be used anywhere but are best suited to smaller jobs such as garden landscaping. Clients use our range for work at large properties with surrounding space, fields or outdoor areas. They are extremely versatile and can also be useful for work on golf courses or farms, as they can move earth at great speed. Gardening in particular can be a backbreaking pursuit, so large land clearing etc calls for a mini digger.
As flowers have finished and plants are dying back autumn and winter are good times to get your outdoor area in order. Clearing away leaves and getting the ground ready for a fresh start in the spring. Maybe a summer house appeals to you, in which case the right size of ground should be prepared and flattened. Perhaps you are thinking about a fancy patio for entertaining or lazing in the sun, when it returns! A mini excavator is the quickest and most effective way to carry out this type of project. Smaller digger models are extremely versatile, powerful and will perform up to standard in cramped areas. They feature 380 degree swivel action and cabs offer wide visibility and operator comfort.
Whatever the task you are planning, our mini diggers are sure to help, especially with the range of attachments available. The staff here at Rhinos are happy to advise on what you may need for each particular job. We can provide grapples designed for work with timber-based materials to hydraulic breakers for materials like concrete. Pulverisers will process a reinforced concrete structure, and augers available to drill post holes in even the most stubborn surface.
Bucket attachments make swift work of digging, and we can provide toothless buckets where needed. Confidence is assured as our attachments are sourced from reputable firms such as Atlas Copco. Excellent hydraulic breakers are second to none, and can be used with our 1-8 tonne mini excavators.
Citicape House in London will feature the “largest living wall in Europe” to contribute towards improving local air quality. The structure is wrapped up in a façade of 400,000 plants that are hoped to “capture over eight tonnes of carbon and produce six tonnes of oxygen” annually. Sited on the capital’s Culture Mile between Farringdon and Moorgate in Central London, the building is planned to help tackle air pollution and climate change.
The attractive structure was designed by London studio Sheppard Robson, and replaces an office building near Holborn Viaduct. Dan Burr of Sheppard Robson said “On a site that is so prominent, there was a real drive to inject some fresh perspectives on how to grapple with some on London’s most urgent environmental issues, including air quality and noise and dust pollution. He added “Rather than having an isolated patch of greenery, we felt that an immersive and integrated approach would have the biggest impact on the local environmental conditions, making a better and more liveable city, as well as articulating a clear architectural statement”. A five-star hotel alongside a mix of offices, co-working and event spaces, a sky-bar, spa and ground-level restaurant will be achieved by this project.
You will find heavy plant machinery from Rhinos in the garden of an ordinary home in Central London or working on some of the most prestigious structures around. Our mini diggers are currently on hire by contractors carrying out part of an £11.2m project including improvements to Westminster Abbey. This iconic building attracts over 1.3 million visitors from across the globe each year, which is excellent for tourism in Central London. However this ever increasing activity has meant that fortifications are needed, along with a new welcome centre.
Work has commenced on the new construction, which will adjoin the Abbey on its North side. This a more unobtrusive area than the existing site in the North Transept, where ticketing facilities etc spoil the visual impact of the Abbey. On completion of the improvements, visitors will be able to enter the Abbey by the Great West Door as have numerous Kings, Queens and royal brides. The new single-storey building will also serve as storage for chairs and equipment which at the moment takes up valuable space within the Abbey. Clearing this area, will also reveal some historic monuments that have been obscured by these items.
The new structure will sit on the site of the Great Sacristy built in the 1250s during Henry III’s reconstruction of Edward the Confessor’s Abbey. This original building fell into disrepair and was demolished, but its foundations were rediscovered in 2009 by Channel 4’s Time Team. The new welcome centre has been designed by Ptolemy Dean, the Abbey’s Surveyor of the Fabric (consultant architect), recently awarded the OBE for services to heritage and design. Ptolemy also designed the award winning access tower to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries in the Abbey’s triforium. These upgrades compliment the Gothic architecture of the Abbey beautifully, and incorporate a series of buttresses, walling and castellation. Materials such as English stone, lead and oak will ensure the building sits comfortably and discreetly within its surroundings.
Other improvements planned for this project include landscaping enhancements at the Great West Door, such as a step free entry for heightened accessibility. Rhinos Plant Hire are extremely proud to be involved in this major Central London project, which is set to be completed by late 2022.
