You may have noticed a rise in activity when it comes to construction sites, as workforces slowly begin to resume their projects. Several major contractors and housebuilders are reopening their sites as lockdown is gradually eased. Firms like Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon, Multiplex, Mace Bam and Wates are continuing ongoing work in places like Braintree. Obviously all are practising safe social distancing in line with government advice and staff numbers are reduced. Popular DIY retailer B&Q has also reopened 155 of its stores, and many large UK car factories will be commencing business.
“These new measures are fully compliant with government public health guidance and will be strictly enforced by a specialist team, with any individual failing to uphold standards being subject to disciplinary action and removal from site.” Persimmon, the second largest housebuilder in the UK, announced that house purchase cancellations are still at historically low levels, suggesting that a looming recession has not as yet begun to take hold.
With this renewed activity, plant hire will also inevitably continue to grow, building on many years of success. At Rhinos we continue to offer high performance plant machinery, tools and equipment covering a vast range of large and small jobs.
